At age 9, Sierra aka "Monkey" became the youngest person on record to complete a continuous thru-hike of the 2,665 mile Pacific Crest Trail! Click on the links below to read the journal of her 2012 PCT hike with her mother Heather aka "Mama Bear", her 2013 hike of the Colorado Trail, her hike of the Continental Divide Trail (completed over the summers from 2014-16), or to follow along on our other adventures!

Day 73: Mammoth Sierra Park Orthopedic and Rehabilitation Therapy ("SPORT") Center
Back to the doctor today, this time to the Sierra Park Orthopedic and Rehabilitation Therapy ("SPORT") Center in Mammoth Lakes. The SPORT Center has a great team of doctors, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other professionals who have seen our family through a variety of injuries. The good news is that Sierra is cleared to hike! Kevin at Footloose Sports fit Sierra with a new pair of shoes, and we are hoping to test them out back on the trail tomorrow!

OK ready to go! I was working outside the clinic today, would've loved to let you know how much I enjoy following your trip. Although I would have been surprised to see you in town.

You two are having an adventure that will stay with you for a lifetime! Thank you for making the time to keep this journal and even more, the effort to get it out to the Internet. Classic stuff!
ReplyDeleteWow that was out of the blue. I hadn't been able to keep up on your journal the last couple days and suddenly you're off the trail...then right back on. So glad to see Sierra's on her feet again...and on the trail. Really enjoying your journal.
