At age 9, Sierra aka "Monkey" became the youngest person on record to complete a continuous thru-hike of the 2,665 mile Pacific Crest Trail! Day 32: The Big Dipper (Helena Zero Day)
After all the town chores are done, one of our favorite zero day activities is to discover the best local ice cream. Other hikers had already pointed us in the direction of the Big Dipper, and we managed to squeeze in two visits there during the course of a single zero day. Delicious creamy ice cream in all the usual flavors, and some unique flavors we had not seen before: cardamom, black licorice, birthday cake, and espresso Heath bar were just a few of the many flavors we sampled. In between ice cream cones, we swam, soaked in the hot tub, relaxed, and enjoyed what will probably be our last zero day before we finish the trail.
